Student Financial Aid I would like to acknowledge an issue numerous of students experience with financial aid. There have been countless issues involving lack of financial aid for college students. Even though many schools do provide financial aid to students at their institute, not all of them qualify. ââ¬Å"Over the past decade, the price index for college tuition grew by nearly 80%, a rate nearly twice as fast as the overall consumer price index during the same periodâ⬠(Godek et al 255). Colleges and Universities should offer their students with multiple forms of financial aid. There should be alternatives available for students who do not qualify. An article written by James Day recognizes some of the struggles that colleges are facing with financial aid. Day provides four in depth strategies that suggest how schools should spend their funds to help their institute. This information can allow the readers to understand that there has been thoughts put into wanting success for both the schools and students. James Day is suggesting to keep using their method of leveraging, but to take advantage of it by providing aid for students so that the institute will benefit from it as well (Day). Itââ¬â¢s basically a win-win situation that would be going on here. The students will benefit from this type of strategy because they will be receiving financial aid, as well as helping the school with student enrollment on their campus. The information in an article ââ¬Å"Playing the Numbers HARD CHOICESâ⬠is set from 2003 to 2008, reviewing studentsââ¬â¢ tuition based on their income and how much financial aid they receive. It shows that higher level of education that students pursue, the less quantity of money will be provided to pay for their tuition and fees. The author discusses the amount of financial aid students receive based on the type of school those students are attending and the types of degrees they choose (Doyle 51). Also, William Doyle mentions that the students who attend four year institutes receive a smaller coverage amount from financial aid than the two year institutes. There are chart shown to allow the readers to see that the cost for schools rise as their education level does (Doyle 53). This given information is perfect to support the studentsââ¬â¢ point of view when they apply for financial aid. It can also bring up opposing view like on how schools need to carefully choose what necessary requirements are needed for students to be eligible for financial aid. As a student who could not receive any form of aid when I first applied to a two year college, the article by Timothy Hulsey helped me understand some of the reasons why I may have not been able to get any assistance. In his article, Hulsey goes over some of the complications that public institutes in the United States are experiencing from 2000 to 2010. Some of the issues are because of the decreasing tax revenues which force institutes to reduce their spending on higher education (Hulsey). The only source they have left that is reliable for funding their school is by increasing the tuition, leading to more issues on student loans. Mullinââ¬â¢s article covers information about eligibility for financial aid and how changes have been made. Also providing a chart to have a better understanding about all tuitions and fees involved and how much is covered from aid programs (Mullin 119). There is a figure provided in Mullinââ¬â¢s article showing how tuitions, fees, books, and supplies relative to the maximum grant amount in 2011 to 2012. The chart demonstrates comparisons from public institutes, private institutes, and profit schools. Most of the schools do not cover all of the tuitions except for public two year colleges, but that is if they to receive the maximum amount of financial aid. This chart gives a great visual on how much aid programs will actually cover for school expenses. This is one of the reasons why there should be more alternatives for financial aid for college students. Some students may not be able to afford their education independently and might not get to pursue a higher education. To sum up, colleges should keep in mind that if students are not eligible for financial aid it can potentially decrease their student enrollment. If students stop enrolling it can affect their school or campus. College tuition increases frequently and based on students income their financial aid may not even cover half of their fees. It should be mad aware that student financial aid is a problem that is still occurring today and that schools should acknowledge these issues to find an alternative way to help their students pursue their higher education. Iââ¬â¢ve also had the chance to administer injections; the influenza and the pneumonia vaccines. I replaced old charts with new ones. Retrieved and wrote messages off the office voice-mail. I faxed medical documents, such as prescriptions and correspondence letters. I called patients advising them of their insurance company conducting an audit for mammograms and colonoscopy testing. Iââ¬â¢d filed and pulled charts, I did referrals, took patientââ¬â¢s weight and blood pressures. I did appointment verifications and made appointments for patients. I was able to view patientââ¬â¢s charts to better familiarize myself with medical terms and abbrievations. I inserted documents into charts and learned how to properly arrange the documents in the charts. I was also advised about universal precautions. The others nurseââ¬â¢s in the office were most helpful and showed a great deal of patience whenever questions were asked and took the time to explain the faithful duties of an Medical Assistant. And without hesitating, they were always pleased with my helpful hands and always willingly to share information, advice and experiences. The Doctorââ¬â¢s in the office were extremely professional at all times and appreciated the help that I was to their assistantââ¬â¢s. The patients were also nice and understanding that I was in training and allowed me to practice on them. They were always greeting me with a warm and pleasant attitude. For the short time I was on the job Iââ¬â¢ve began to feel like I was part of their family. Overall this was an experience I had the pleasure of being involved in and took great heed to this advancement to expand my knowledge as to becoming an Medical Assistant. I canââ¬â¢t begin to express the overwhelm feeling this was as Iââ¬â¢m about to take a new journey of success in the world of healthcare. Without this experience none of this information would have been grateful to me then it is now. Because of the knowledge Iââ¬â¢ve gained Iââ¬â¢m able to grow in this profession with strength and stability that it takes to succeed in this business, that I can always love and enjoy by taking care of others.

The Origins of Life Before any speculation toward the origin of biotic forms, what was present at the formation of the earth that could result in inorganic, then organic, and later biotic creatures? Early atmospheric conditions have been theorized to be present due to planetesimal collisions releasing gases present in the Earth, after the initial atmosphere of Hydrogen and Helium escaped Earthââ¬â¢s gravity assisted by heat energy. Phnom Penh
I was born in Kampong Cham Province and I have moved to live in Phnom Penh since I finished my high school. When I first came here in Phnom Penh, I felt very surprise and scare. The building and people were far different from my hometown. I got around Phnom Penh by motorbike for a first few days. I saw many high rise buildings; especially the city's French colonial buildings were beautiful. I saw some different kind of transportation that running on the road such as: modern car, Motorbikes, Motorbike-taxis (motodops), Taxis were available at a few locations, Tuk-tuks, and Cyclos. There transportations were in the great amount if compared to my province and it sometimes caused a very serious traffic jam and accidents. I also went to the Royal Palace which no photography was allowed inside the Silver Pagoda and some of the Palace buildings. You were expected to dress decently (no bare legs or shoulders). Beside this, I went to Wat Phnom. I liked the park there. It was a pleasant green space and a popular gathering place for locals. A few monkeys kept quarters there as well and will helped themselves to any drinks you leave unattended. After that I went to Independence and Liberation memorials. Impressive Buddhist-style Independence Memorial, commemorating the departure of the French in 1953, dominated the centre of the city. Nearby was the very ugly Stalin-style Liberation Memorial, marking the Vietnamese capture of the city in 1979. The area was especially popular on weekend nights with locals when the multi-colored fountains were activated and communal music was played. I took several pictures there and got some rest. I also went to Sorya shopping center which located at the south of the Central Market. It's on a North-South Street on the west side. It is currently Phnom Penh's main Western-style mall. It is air-conditioned and contains a range of cheap fast-food outlets as well as a well-stocked supermarket named Lucky Supermarket. You can do shopping, eating, drinking, playing game and whatsoever. Everything is served here. After I live in Phnom Penh for many years, I feel that it is completely different from my province. Phnom Penh is developing very fast. Many high buildings were built, many companies were established and the whole cityââ¬â¢s infrastructures are constructing rapidly. One I feel very anxious about is people here are competing for each other very aggressively. If you are not smart enough and you donââ¬â¢t high education, you will be jobless, isolate and demise from the society.

Directory Viruses
There are many ways to sabotage a computer. Some malicious programs create software that automatically replicates itself and spreads throughout a computer's file system to destroy it later. One of these virus types is called the Directory Virus. From its name itself, one can know that it attacks the directory and file system of a computer. The computer uses a large file that contains information about its subdirectories and files. It includes information such as the starting cluster, the name, the time and date it was created or modified, attributes such as being read-only, and other information.Every time a file needs to be accessed, it searches for the directory entry and the starting cluster, an index to the File Allocation Table or FAT. All the other cluster addresses are in the FAT. So a Directory Virus infects clusters and allocates it in the FAT. It then targets other clusters and infects other files. The destructive code is usually with executable files such as the ones endin g with . EXE or . COM. The location or paths to the computer's files will then be changed by the Directory Virus so that it can infect other files.This will be done transparently, without the user's knowledge, until the original files will be impossible to find. Eventually, the user's files become useless (Spam Laws, 2009). In May 1991, the DIR II virus was discovered first in Bulgaria. It is also known as Creeping Death and was written by the same programmers who coded the DIR, MG and Shake viruses. At that time, it was considered to be unique since directory viruses were still unknown. It changed directory entries only and did not change the files (Hypponen, 2010).It was eventually followed by variants such as the DIR III and DIR BYWAY viruses. The BYWAY virus appeared first in mid 1995 in Venezuala, but was possibly authored by a Chinese programmer named Wai Chan since the code is signed ââ¬Å"By Wai Chanâ⬠(PR Newswire, 1995). It is similar to the DIR II family of viruses but alters the technique slightly by modifying directories and cross linking executable files to point to a file named CHKLISTx. MSx, containing the viral code (Paris, 2010).The BYWAY virus has an interesting story since it reveals that people from different countries often disguise themselves using other countries. The Chinese search engine, Baidu, for example was attacked by malware that showed an Iranian flag, but Baidu doubts that it was Iranian. They believe that it was American hackers who did it. In the same way, the BYWAY virus claims that it was authored by Wai Chan on August 1994. And then when the virus is triggered, it pops out a message saying, ââ¬Å"Trabajemos Todos Por Venezuelaâ⬠which means, ââ¬Å"We are all working for Venezuela.â⬠It also plays music simultaneously, mimicking the Venezuelan national anthem. But it is likely that the real author is neither Venezuelan nor Chinese since crooks are not likely to leave their calling cards at the scene of the crime. It is also possible to remove the virus without using disinfecting software. Simply rename all . COM and . EXE files with non-executable extensions. The virus will automatically correct the FAT. Then reboot using a clean boot disk to remove the virus in memory, and rename everything back to its executable extensions.Do this for all hard disk partitions and the virus will be removed. Unfortunately, because viruses are popularly known to wreak havoc on computers, there is an urban myth propagating in the world that every time a PC doesn't work properly, it is always caused by a virus (Rutter, 1999). However, the fact is that not all PC problems are caused by viruses. There may be manufacturer bugs in the software or incompatibility issues with the hardware or software. Or the computer may simply be malfunctioning like any other electronic device that eventually fails.

Deciding to Licence or Assign When Selling a Patent After youve brought your new idea to full fruition, youve invented it; and after youve gotten your intellectual property protection, youve patented it. Like most independent inventors, the next task at hand will be commercializing your product, you make money from it. If the following conditions apply to you: You have decided for a variety of reasons that you shouldnt be the one to manufacture, market, and distribute your invention yourself, you invented a better mousetrap but you dont want to go into the mousetrap business.You were/are not an employee and your invention was/is not automatically assigned to your employer as specified in your contract. There are two common ways to profit from your patent: licensing and assignment. Lets take a look at the differences between the two and help you decide which path is better for you. The Licensing Route Licensing involves a legal written contract where you the owner of the patent are the licensor, who grants rights to your patent to a licensee, the person that wants to license your patent. Those rights can include: the right to use your invention, or copy and sell your invention. When licensing you can also write performance obligations into the contract, for example, you dont want your invention to just sit on the shelf so you can include a clause that your invention must be brought to market within a certain amount of time. Licensing can be an exclusive or non-exclusive contract. You can determine how long the licensing contract will be in effect. Licensing is revocable by a breach of contract, by preset time limits, or by a failure to meet performance obligations. The Assignment Route Assignment is the irrevocable and permanent sale and transfer of ownership of a patent by the assignor (thats you) to the assignee. Assignment means that you will no longer ever have any rights to your patent. Typically its a one-time lump sum total sale of your patent. How The Money Rolls In - Royalties, Lump Sum With licensing your contract can stipulate a one-time payment or/and that you receive royalties from the licensee. These royalties usually last up until your patent expires, that could be twenty years that you receive a small percentage of the profits from each product that is sold. The average royalty is about 3% of the wholesale price of the product, and that percentage can commonly range from 2% to 10%, and in very rare cases up to 25%. It really depends on what kind of invention you have made, for example; a brilliant piece of software for an application with a foreseeable market can easily command double-digit royalties. On the other hand, the inventor of the flip-top drink can is one of the richest inventors in the world, whose royalty rate was only a tiny percentage. With assignments you can also receive royalties, however, lump-sum payments are much more common (and bigger) with assignments. It should be pointed out that because licensing is revocable when someone doesnt pay you your royalties thats a breach of contract, and you can cancel the contract and take away their rights to use your invention. You would not have the same weight with assignments because they are irrevocable. So in most cases, it is better to go the licensing route when royalties are involved. So which is better, royalties or a lump sum? Well consider the following: how ââ¬â¹novel is your invention, how much competition does your invention have and how likely is it that a similar product will hit the market? Could there be a technical or regulatory failure? How successful is the licensee? If there are no sales, ten percent of nothing is nothing. All the risks (and benefits) involved with royalties are avoided with a lump sum payment, and with assignments, that lump sum payment you receive, you never have to refund. However, negotiations for a lump sum payment do acknowledge the fact that the buyer is paying more upfront because they are assuming more risks to gain themselves a greater profit in the long run. Deciding Between Assignment or Licensing Royalties should be the main consideration when deciding between licensing or assignment. If you choose to receive royalties, choose licensing. If you want the capital that the best lump sum payment will bring you choose assignment. Are you in debt from your invention project? Would the money advance other projects and erase your debts? Or is your invention ready for commercialization, ready to make and sell, and you have determined that sales would be good and that you want royalties, then licensing is probably the better choice for you.
